The Moschino Pre Fall 2020 show was held on the 9th of December at the Transit Museum. The set up was the quintessential New York life. The ramp was the inside of a New York Subway train. The background music for the show included familiar phrases like “steer clear of closing doors”. Models walked up and down the ramp bedazzled with funky accessories and the classic Moschino attitude.
The collection included a variety of high-definition and hyper realistic designs. From trench coats to brilliance in the form of cocktail dresses, Jeremy Scott transformed every form of urban clothing for his collection. The show featured dresses, hyper sized puffers and track suits deconstructed as a dress. The colour range varied from soft denim blues and classic pinks to blacks, greens and gold. There were military prints, chains and the Moschino label prints that represented the designer’s finest prints.
More than anything else, the two features that stood out the most were the heavy chains used as accessories and hyper sized puffer jackets and baseball caps. The bulky chains are definitely trendy, and were extended in the form of prints as well. The oversized puffers were not an extremely new element but along with the matching baseball hats and Moschino prints, it looked like a trend we would all love to wear.
The show ended with a gradual shift towards colourful as well as silver cocktail dresses and gowns. There were body hugging styles as well as relaxed fit dresses. There were embellishments as well as simple colour blocking. Not as bright as Moschino usually is, the colour palette and the designs were slightly more subtle. The fur, the colour blocking and the oversized features are sure to make their way onto the streets!
