Fashion Industry To The Rescue: The Australian Bushfires

We all know about the Australian bush fires and the rapid loss of wildlife that it has caused. As sad and devastating it has been, Australia needs all the support it can get. A lot of famous celebrities as well as general public came out to support the cause worldwide. Our fashion industry was not far behind. A huge number of fashion labels came up with creative ways of supporting the cause, including big labels like Balenciaga and Gucci.

One of the biggest names in the industry, Balenciaga came forward with a limited edition collection featuring the rare wild life of Australia. The collection features solid white, unisex sweatshirts and t-shirts with illustrated versions of Koala Bears. All the proceedings from the collection will be donated to the most appropriate natural conservation organisation, which will be selected by the Kering Group and the Balenciaga sustainability experts. The collection has already started selling on their official website.

Another brand who came up with an exclusive relief collection is NOAH. The collection includes casual t-shirts with animal illustrations holding up a sign of Australia. The tees are in bright yellow and white and showcase the pride of Australian wildlife, the Koalas. The brand urged its audience to donate directly in case they do not like the collection. All the proceedings made from the sale will be donated to the largest Australian wildlife rescue organisation, WIRES.

Apart from these brands there are hundreds more ready to support the cause. All the fashion houses of the luxury group Kering, including Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen have provided millions of Australian dollars to several relief funds from the country. Other such brands that have donated their 100% profits from exclusive collections include Realisation Par, Posse, With Jean and Faithfull The Brand.
